PMDG Launches PMDG OPS

PMDG is pleased to announce the launch of its new resource center. An excerpt from the forum announcement:

Today we have opened for business a brand new server to host our very own, Wiki based PMDG customer resource center known as "PMDG Ops." Some of you are probably familiar with other popular “wiki” websites such as the famous Wikipedia online encyclopedia. At PMDG, we felt that this exciting new technology was just the tool that we needed to enhance the vast wealth of knowledge and help provided every day by PMDG Staff and Customers to one another within this community.

As you likely know, the strength of the Wiki system is that all users may add/edit/tune articles and knowledge to help keep information current and topical. With the advent of PMDG OPS, users will be able to find and utilize information more efficiently and with greater ease than has ever been possible here in a forum based system.

No longer will information simply vanish into thin air as a result of busy forum traffic or the passage of time- users who need assistance can find practically anything they need using a simple search at
PMDG OPS.

PMDG Announces Future Product Lineup

The time has finally come to outline PMDG's future product lineup, which might include a surprise for some of you. Product pages with complete details will be made live soon; in the meantime you can read the complete announcement here.

Monday, April 18

PMDG 747-400 Type Rating Course Lesson 1 Available

PMDG is pleased to announce the availability of the first lesson of the 747-400 Type Rating Course. The following announcement about it has been posted in our forum:

"This lesson is the first of many that we will be providing to teach you the finer aspects of operating the PMDG 747-400/400F in a realistic and detailed fashion. The point of the type course is to provide a bit more hands-on information that we can provide in the Aircraft Operating Manual by allowing you to fly the aircraft and learn some of it's capabilities in a linear course that takes you through aircraft startup through all phases of flight and eventually to shutdown.

The Lesson One type course is designed to walk you through the process of preparing your airplane for flight using preflight concepts as you would learn them if you were to attend a Type Rating Course. I have written the first lesson in a manner that helps to teach you the importance of the checlist process and procedural flows.

At the conclusion of Lesson 1, you will have all four engines running, and be prepared to taxi out for departure- so even though we expect to follow subsequent lessons at a rate of approximately one per week, you can immediately put this PMDG Type Rating Course Lesson One to use in your personal or online flying."
